Autobiography of a Manchester Cotton Manufacturer - by Henry S Gibbs, 1887
This 227 page book describes the life of Henry whose family operated a cotton mill in Kearsley, just north of Manchester. He mentions his friendship with a young man named William Renshaw whose family operated many cotton mills in the mid 1800s. It seems that this was a different William who is featured in this Mitchell website - for the reasons in 'Another William?' in William's profile (above).

Another William Renshaw?
Another William Renshaw?
In his autobiography, Henry Gibbs, a son of a cotton miller in Kearsley, described his friendship with a William Renshaw, whose father had six cotton mills. But this was probably different from 'our' William whose father had a corn mill in Mayfield.
